What to expect

At 20:15 a firecracker goes off, the streets go dark, and more than 1,500 men march through Küssnacht with huge illuminated Iffele headdresses, Samichlaus and Schmutzli, torches, horns, and around a thousand Trychler. Up to 30,000 people line the route, so it’s loud, crowded, and late. Bring warm layers and arrive early for a spot.
