What to expect
Winterzauber turns the top of Uetliberg into a winter pop-up with illuminated trails, a torchlit forest path, a curling rink, and fondue at the Maiensäss. On weekends there’s a small market and candle dipping at Hotel Uto Kulm, priced at CHF 5.50 per 100 g including the wick, and a candle usually takes 20 to 30 minutes. It’s colder up here than in the city, so dress for it.
Good to know
- Candle making from November 7.
- Reserve a 45-minute candle-dipping slot online.
- Take the Uetliberg train from Zürich HB.
- The S10 doesn't run between Zürich HB and Zürich Selnau until December 12. Walk the signposted route from HB to Selnau (about 12 minutes), or take tram 3 or 14 to Stauffacher and walk 6 minutes to Selnau, then take the S10 up the Uetliberg.
