Medieval Christmas market at the Rhine Falls
Fri 20 Nov – Sun 22 Nov · Canton Zurich
Medieval Christmas market at the Rhine Falls
What to expect
For one weekend, the medieval Christmas market spreads across both sides of the Rhine Falls: around Schloss Laufen on the Zurich side and Schlössli Wörth on the Schaffhausen side. Between the stalls and fire pits there are performers, jugglers, storytellers, and medieval music, with a program for kids and adults. You can walk between the two market areas over the railway bridge (about 20 minutes) or take the ferry across the river (about 5 minutes).
Good to know
- The ferry costs CHF 3 for adults and CHF 2 for kids 6–15; under 6 ride free.
- The ferry landing at Schloss Laufen is down stone steps, so it doesn't work with a stroller. Walk over the bridge instead.
- It goes ahead in any weather.
