What to expect

After dark, Saint Nicolas rides a donkey from Collège St-Michel to the cathedral, with the pères fouettards, choirs, and a brass band, handing out biscômes along the way. He then gives a speech to the city’s children in French and German from the cathedral terrace. A market sells sweets and crafts, and a giant screen shows the speech on Place de l’Hôtel-de-Ville.
